Livestock Post Mortem Services

We offer a comprehensive post mortem service for your livestock, to provide an accurate diagnosis for cause of death and identify potential treatment and management plans. This is supported by a variety of tests and investigations that are available, both in house and by utilising our contacts with other laboratory facilities. Any test will be performed only after discussion with the client and then only if a cost benefit can be demonstrated.

 Available investigations include:



• Post Mortems *
• Advisory farm visits (in association with your vet)
• In-house tests **

* includes simple carcase-side tests:

- urine analysis

- rumen pH

- coccidial oocyst smears

** can be performed as needed after discussion with the client.

Include:

- worm egg counts

- total worm counts

- clostridium perfringens toxin testing (for pulpy kidney)

- rotavirus testing

- coronavirus testing

- cryptosporidia testing

More complicated samples can be sent away for analysis if necessary but only after discussion with the client.
